Re: Blood Flow Restriction Training
The point with the BFRT is to send the same signals for growth, without the same degree of damage to the tissue. It is not only 'damage' that triggers hypertrophy, that is a simplification. Steroids are not inflicting damage, but mimicks one of several signals that the body would produce naturally w...

Re: Blood Flow Restriction Training
Interesting points RRM! Since my goal is more overall muscle and strengt gains, training in a way that makes me unable to repeat that exercise for a week is not ideal. BFRT might enable you to train every muscle way more often, yielding more gains in total. Also, the guys behind the Mindpump podcast...

Maybe you have IBS? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irritable_bowel_syndrome
Just read an article about a study getting interesting results from fecal matter transplants (!). Check it out here: http://www.thelancet.com/journals/langa ... sca1=tlxpr

Re: low hydrochloric acid levels
100% wai for months with no animal foods sounds like a frutarian diet, aka a very bad idea. Going without animal foods for a few days is not a problem, but if you are doing it for longer periods, you should make sure to eat plenty of nuts, avocado etc. and consider supplementing vit. D and B12. Not ...

Re: Blod Flow Restriction Training
I would argue that there very well might be other mechanisms, such as cellular swelling, that makes restricting blood flow more effective than just lifting to failure with quite light weights with no restriction. Several other mechanisms have been proposed. Also, if the lactate accumulation alone wa...

Re: Fictors Fasting Adventures
Still doing well! Today is a workout day, and I almost cant wait to break my fast! Mashed bananas with raw yolks and olive oil... Boiled potatoes with salt, oil and raw ground lambs meat. I have been fasting for 20 hours now, and is SO ready to eat again! :) I got a rash right under my eye (first on...

Blood Flow Restriction Training
In the spirit of targeting and isolating specific muscles, which I know is something you focus a lot on RRM, have you (or anyone else in here) had any experience with blood flow restriction training? I am currently doing heavy, fairly low rep strength training, but I am looking for a smart solution ...

Re: Caesarean recovery and breastfeeding on Wai
Regarding loosing weight and breastfeeding: you will likely not need to purposefully reduce intake, just let the baby eat those extra kilos off you! My girlfriend gained quite a bit of weight with both pur kids, but it all came off when she was breastfeeding, without her ever reducing calorie intake...

Still doing good! Enjoying increased ability to recover from lifting! Squat is now at 95kg, 5x5, bench at 80 kg, overhead press at 48 kg, deadlift at 122,5 kg, barbell rows at 70 kg and I am doing 5 reps of pullups with 33 kg around my waist.

The minor flare up is gone, and I am back to my 99% acne free self, still doing 800 grams of animal foods for now

Arent the aspartame in the water kicking you out of ketosis? I have read it triggers insuline and can interfere with a ketogenic diet.

Re: Fictors Fasting Adventures
Update: Some small breakouts on my forehead yesterday/today. Nothing major, but if it dosent go away within a day or two I will reduce to 6-700 grams. It might be other reasons, like sleep, salt and fluid intake, hormonal fluctuations or due to eating even more than 800 grams on some days. Time will...

Re: Fictors Fasting Adventures
I'm happy for you but why so? I can understand the joy and the urge to experiment to move to 50 grams per day at 250-400 grams days but go to 800-900 grams day? Even if it is raw it does not make too much protein? No. As I wrote above, I am not consuming more than 2 grams per kilo bw. And Fictor al...

Re: Fictors Fasting Adventures
Don't you ingest way too much protein right now? I once read the maximum is 2.5 gr per kilo bodyweight for health reasons, but I don't know for sure if that's true (and of course I don't know your stats). i am at 70 kilos right now, and at the very most I am having 2 grams of protein per kilo of bo...

Re: Fictors Fasting Adventures
Still doing well with 800 grams. Yesterday I had almost 900 gr. actually (had some salmon that was about to turn bad, needed to clear the plate ;)) plus two yolks! I am most certainly experiencing increased anabolic effects now. I am truly enjoying being somewhat "bigger" and more muscular, although...
