is a place where you can buy the most wonderful homemade ROSE WATER.

It's in french though...
It's a family business and the rose petals are distilled in an old "alambic" using woodfire only. You can smell the woodiness still in this rose water. Also it is not filltered like other commercial kinds and therefore traces of the essential rose oil remain.
My parents live about 40 km from this place and I stock up every summer on rose water and corn blossom water, which I use to remove eye makeup. Corn water is soothing for the eyes.
I'm just letting everybody here know about this because I like to support these kinds of family businesses...
Last summer when I went they said they were having difficulty because of European norms and their rose water not being "clean" enough...(read not sterile like everything else and not made in large uniform quantities)
What is interesting is that each bottle will be slightly different because of the kind of rose and the time it was picked

Ooh, lovely, thanks Corinne! I agree, it is wise to support these family businesses. I feel the same way about where I buy my fruit (much rather from a local independent grocer than a monolithic supermarket...)

If you want to have rosewater with NO additives you can use the hydrolat of roses. It's the byproduct from making essentiel oil of roses.
It's only destilled water and rose.
I guess you should be able to get it at a healthstore. That is the case here in Denmark...

In another thread I posted that you can get Rose water naturally distelled in an old wood burning "alambic".
It is made in France by a familly business.

I've been using Rosewater twice a day for 2 years now and due to monetary matters would like to cut down on usage.

The higher the mineral content, the more water it will distract from your skin.

What is your general washing routine? Do you warm up the low mineral water in order to open up the pores?
Also, what mild cleanser would you recomend a part from rosewater? I didn't seem to react well to rosewater...

I use warm water because it cleanses better.
Instead of rosewater you can use cucumber juice / oil.

I use mineral oil to remove a sunblock I use that is very waxy/hard to take off. I don't know if this is harmful or not---

I use it only occasionally, and it is the only thing that works.

Even mild soap just seems to smear the sunblock's base around.
