Sea salt

Post by dcboyer02 »

So, question, if there's natural salt in fruit then wouldn't sea salt be ok?

I know salt isn't allowed but were your tests done with table/iodized salt only? Or did you include sea salt too?

Thanks

Personally, the times I have had sea salt with tomatoes because of irresistible salt cravings I noticed a higher degree of water retention in my face, especially forhead, however it passed quicker than that one time I had bulgogi (korean bbq beef) and got painful pimples that took ca two weeks to go down. Wont' do that again.
So seasalt I'd say from my personal experience does affect.
I guess it depends on if you have acne or not, and how bad. But if your goal is to clear up or maintain clear skin - don't use it.
that's my thinking at least.

The salt in fruits is very little.
The amount of salt that one adds to foods is much, much greater.

Regardless of the source and the quality / diversity,
all salt has the same effect on water.
All salts have very strong hydrophilic properties.
Compared to the low levels in fruits, any salt added to food will make you retain more water,
which may cause acne if you are susceptible to acne.
