What happens is I clear up next day, then the following day breakout pretty bad.

I find that on nights when I go out and drink around 3-4 shots of vodka, my skin is always whiter the next day. Do you know what causes this? I've read online that alcohol is a vasodilator... would that have anything to do with this?

Probably it's because alcohol dehydrates you.

People who drink alcohol initially get a red face, due to the vasodilating effect.
But if you over-stimulate something in the body, it usually subsequently leads to the opposite.
Hence your face will be paler than usual after a night of heavy drinking.

I try to drink only on the weekend, seems to help a little
