Re: Aytundra's Diary (not Wai diet)
I am back! Aytundra, no I am not scared of raw meat, I just do not like it that much more than a small little taste every now and then.
I of course think sodium chloride is more important than say iron or zinc.RRM wrote:What do you mean; you don't believe our ancestors have been eating raw meat for millions of years?rogii wrote:I am not convinced we are raw meat eaters.
Oh, I am sure we did! I simply meant as modern humans we are clearly not raw meat eaters, as very few people do it. This is not an observation of what is right or wrong though in terms of healthy eating.
Malnourishment has declined in developed countries, whereas obesity has increased.rogii wrote:A well nourished cell does not crave junk.
Cravings go beyond nutrition.
Cravings may be stimulated through the opiate receptors, through the dopamine- or the serotonin system.
Numerous studies have shown that in well nourished individuals, drugs acting on one of the above pathways may markedly induce cravings for junk foods.
You reckon aytundra does drugs to stimulate junk food cravings?
He thinks that more salt will enable you to do the Wai diet properly.Aytundra wrote:RRM help please. I don't know exactly how to reply to this comment by rogii.rogii wrote: One last thing to offer, perhaps consider adding pure sodium chloride to your wai diet, to your fruits and juices even. I know it isn't recommended here, but it is extremely imperative to life and not a big deal in my opinion, it might even keep you wai for longer. There must be a reason why you keep going back to "wrong" food choices when you probably think you have the answer already.
That your cravings for junk foods may be triggered by a relative lack of salt in your diet.
Personally, i do not think that your diet is lacking salt.
It contains more salt than the diet of most of us.
Maybe Rogii thinks that sodium and chloride are more imperative to life than say, iron or zinc,
or any other mineral, metal or trace element.
Do you, Rogii?

Hey Rogii is back !
Behavioral conditioning can also stimulate the pathway for the brain to respond with some of those brain systems.
The concept of not eating burnt foods is that they contain burnt stuff, of which may not be good.rogii wrote:Oh, I am sure we did! I have never done drugs.rogii wrote:A well nourished cell does not crave junk. You reckon aytundra does drugs to stimulate junk food cravings?RRM wrote:...Cravings may be stimulated through the opiate receptors, through the dopamine- or the serotonin system.

Re: Aytundra's Diary (not Wai diet)
Had a skim through your diary where I left off last time. Not surprised to see you are still chaotically all over the place. Is interesting to observe. With my own personal research I like to observe trends in diet from all over the spectrum to see what all the crazy people are up to with their own diet experiments. Your one is certainly one of the more interesting.
For some reason you seem committed to the idea that the wai diet is optimal in theory but completely uncommitted to it in practice. Must drive you barmy.
A few pages back you said you like the wai diet for the reason that you can control what you eat and know what you are eating and what nutrition you are getting, so then why is everyday so random if that is the case? You are not even committed to your own thoughts let alone a specific restricted diet. Even normal people on normal diets are on a more stable and consistent diet than you are with more control thus. A controlled diet does not have to be wai.
Clearly the Wai diet is not right for you, even if it is just for social reasons. Which is as just a valid reason than any other aspect of health. I would expect eating cooked meat socially if that is what you wanna do, is healthier for you than any theory that cooked meat might be carcinogenic and being a social hermit because of it and not wanting to be.
A diet does not have to be one way or no way. Looking at your diary, it is clear that you like the wai diet and like eating what you want socially also. You are allowed to you know, I think you would be much more at ease with food if you were just happy to accept that.
I still am not too sure what your ultimate goal is with your diet? Have you ever specified clearly? It must take up a lot of your daily thinking to be so aimless with it all!
-I do not think you want to do the wai diet 100%, or else why not just do it 100% and that is that! Decision made. Get on with life.
-Your random food intake makes no sense either because there is no controlled observation going on. You just seem to half ass wai with no goal, then half ass eating whatever with no goal, then half ass trying to understand all the chaos.
I will end by saying that I too have a crazy eating experimental diet, but in my case I do things controlled and with goals and endpoints in mind so I can make proper analysis and observations to make proper conclusions following strict methods. Like RRM and his methods(apple and oil diet?!!), have a goal, a method and competence in commitance.
You have a way with words I really enjoy though. A complete internet mystical mystery. Honestly, you seem like my sort of person! I would like to know you more than an internet diary if I could though.

Re: Aytundra's Diary (not Wai diet)
I observed, I listened, I discovered what some foods do to me, I switched items, I tried something else...and all you saw was no control, no observation, and all randomness.rogii wrote:Your random food intake makes no sense either because there is no controlled observation going on.
Here are a few things I noted of myself (though they might not be true conclusions, maybe something changes and I will interact with the foods differently in the future.):
There is the side of possible-calories, in which testing sugars, chocolates, raisins, dates, avocado and bananas, made my days a bit too sugary and sweet such that my tongue and sometimes my teeth complained of an acid after taste, and perhaps a white fur coat (which can be easily brushed off and is of no concern) in 2015.
There is also the side of starchy fibers (avocado, banana, pasta, bread) that don't go too well with my intestines that flags foul with constipation.
There is also nuts that make me wake up in the middle of the night. {not that they drive me nuts, I found a method for me to use if I want to wake up at night without an alarm.}
There is also too much sugary foods before bed that leave an acid after taste, that my teeth does not like at night.
There is also too much protein too close to bed, that makes me sleep longer through the night.
There is also not eating enough food, causing me to wake up earlier or in the middle of the night.(Though it may be confounded with a change in sleep cycle where I am becoming bi-phasic, the classic-historical way of sleeping {which may be a good thing, at least to some scholars that study sleep.})
There is also oils, avocado oil namely, that might cause me nightmares.
There is the apple+chocolate+eggyolks, that keeps me focused.
There is the egg yolk before bed, that helps a restless-keeps-thinking-mind resign to sleep.
There is the melon honeymusk + strawberry + date + avocado combo that kept me happy as a meal.
There are cucumber and grapes with Vitamin K that keeps my face skin shiny and smooth.
There are salmon with that makes my face skin shiny.
There are banana starch and rice starch with added egg yolks that makes my face skin grainy, which I will try to not eat yolks near them.
There are brazil nuts which I happen to like.
Was I busy?yeah, Was it messy? obviously no controls you see.
Very boring, typical aytundra crazyness.
No, it was strategic. nah, just kidding, it was totally being unintentionally accidentally random, but carefully observing and listening, and switching things on the run.
To note my current status is not an experimental-design-experiment with some hard core goal to find something, it is simply as observational as I can be, and observational-n=1-anecdotal-self-study if you will, someone else eating raisins might like them and tolerate them better than me. {and no, it is not why i started my diary.}
As for control, I do not know if you are referring to control as in will-power-control or control as in experimental-control controlled variable.
Either case, both forms of control if asked to be adhered to without understanding what controls can be tolerated, will be in violation of listening to the body's response principle. Asking myself to eat a lot of raisins daily for the long term without testing if I tolerate raisins well would be like, whaaat? possibly unethical.
